SmartPak Awards Presented to Leading Riders of WCHR Week at Blenheim June Classic I
San Juan Capistrano, CA - The Blenheim June Classic I showcased some of the nation's best hunters as riders competed for World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) points and special sponsored awards. The show featured the $25,000 USHJA WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular as well, attracting top quality horses and making for an elegant week of stunning rounds. Riders were presented with prestigious SmartPak Awards for high-point and high-score results.

Boss and John French

Prizes Galore to Overall SmartPak Winners
Laura Wasserman's Boss dominated the show ring and collected numerous awards throughout the week. John French and the star horse earned both the Overall SmartPak Grand Champion Hunter Award and the Overall SmartPak High Score Award in addition to several division-specific awards. The pair swept the High Performance Conformation Hunter division, with overall recognition for their high score of 92. Archie Cox, Jenny Ross, and Caerry Robinson accepted the Blue Ribbon Blankets Winning Trainer Award and, on behalf of Wasserman, the Balmoral Farm, Inc. Winning Owner Award.

Maple Bay and Olivia Welsh

Olivia Welsh and Maple Bay matched French's results but in the 3'3" 16-17 Junior Hunters. Accumulating the maximum number of points for performing a clean sweep of the division, they tied for the Overall SmartPak Grand Champion Hunter title. Welsh received a SmartPak gift certificate, a neck sash, and the Balmoral Farm, Inc. Winning Owner Award. The Blue Ribbon Blankets Winning Trainer Award went to Lexi Shaw of Elvenstar.

Really and Jenny Karazissis

Tying with Boss and French, Jenny Karazissis and Michelle Cobb's Really walked away with the Overall SmartPak High Score Award for the 92 they scored in the High Performance Hunters. Though the 92 earned them the SmartPak Award, Karazissis and Really proved to be consistently outstanding as they earned a 91 in the 3'9" Green Hunters. Karazissis was also the winner of the USHJA WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular.

Green, Performance, and Conformation Hunter Division Awards to Leading Professionals
Jamie Taylor piloted Sue Lightner's Catira to a total of 38 points in the 3'6" Green Hunter division. Their success, which included two blue ribbons over fences, landed them the SmartPak Grand Green Hunter Champion Award. Overall winners Jenny Karazissis and Really took home the SmartPak High Score Green Hunter Award for the 91 they scored in the 3'9" Green Hunters.

Catira and Jamie Taylor

The SmartPak Grand Performance Hunter Champion Award went to Karli Postel and Alex Jayne's Bugsy Malone for their four wins over fences and 41 point total in the 3'3" Performance Hunter division. It was Karazissis and Really who claimed the SmartPak High Score Performance Hunter Award with their overall winning score of 92 in the High Performance Hunters.

John French's clean sweep of the High Performance Conformation Hunter division with Boss that earned him overall top honors also landed him the SmartPak Grand Conformation Hunter Champion Award. The top score of 92 also got the pair the SmartPak High Score Conformation Hunter Award.

Technicolor and Lindsay Maxwell

Top Amateur Owners and Adult Amateurs Distinguished
Accumulating a total of 36 points, Lindsay Maxwell rode her stunning bay gelding Largesse to the SmartPak Grand 3'6" Amateur Owner Hunter Championship. Largesse also took home second place in the USHJA WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular with John French. The week was a successful one for Maxwell and her horses, for she also received the SmartPak High Score 3'6" Amateur Owner Hunter Award for the 90 she and Technicolor earned in the first over fences class of their division.

Winfield and Tonia Looker

In the 3'3" Amateur Owner Hunter division, it was Tonia Looker and Winfield who stole the show. The duo won both the SmartPak Grand 3'3" Amateur Owner Hunter Champion Award and SmartPak High Score 3'3" Amateur Owner Hunter Award in addition to the blue ribbon in the classic.

Shari Roseboom's success with Voila in the Adult Hunters culminated in the SmartPak Grand Adult Hunter Championship. Milissa Summer and Top Shelf scored 89 in the 36-50 age group and received the SmartPak High Score Adult Hunter Award.

Boss and Hunter Siebel

Outstanding Junior and Children's Hunters Performances Recognized
Laura Wasserman's Boss found great success early in the week with John French, but he continued to dazzle in the Small Junior Hunter division with Hunter Siebel. Siebel secured the SmartPak High Score 3'6" Junior Hunter Award with an over fences score of 91. She also tied with Katherine Dash for the SmartPak Grand 3'6" Junior Hunter Champion Award. Dash matched Siebel's 40 points riding Teton Farms' Favorite in the Large Junior Hunter division.

In the 3'3" Junior Hunters, Olivia Welsh's clean sweep of the 16-17 division that earned her an Overall SmartPak Award also earned her division-specific recognition. For winning every class, she and Maple Bay were crowned SmartPak Grand 3'3" Junior Hunter Champions. Aya Clear won the SmartPak High Score 3'3" Junior Hunter Award piloting Gabriel to a score of 87.

Prime Time and Katalina Rickard

The SmartPak Grand Children's Hunter Champion Award was presented to Katalina Rickard and Prime Time. The pair accumulated 40 points in the Children's Hunters 13 & Under division. Also competing in the younger section, Charlotte Olson rode Rumour to a high score of 84 that could not be beat in either age group. Olson took home the SmartPak High Score Children's Hunter Award for her performance.

Kingston and Augusta Iwasaki

Special Awards for Special Ponies
Augusta Iwasaki and Ava Peck's Kingston received both the SmartPak Grand Pony Hunter Champion Award and the SmartPak High Score Pony Hunter Award after earning top honors in the Large Pony Hunter division. The SmartPak Grand Children's Pony Hunter Champion Award went to Tessa Buchanan and Rose Gold, who championed the Large Children's Pony Hunter division. Paige Walkenbach scored an 82 in the same division with Style Wise and earned the SmartPak High Score Children's Pony Hunter Award for her effort.

The Blenheim June Classic I WCHR week at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park at San Juan Capistrano wrapped up as any SmartPak-sponsored event should: with healthy horses and happy riders. Blenheim EquiSports would like to congratulate all the winners.
