Supporting Young Horses, Young Riders and Top Sport - Interactive Mortgage Takes Action

After coming on board as a title sponsor of the Futurity Series in 2013, Gregg and Evette DeLong of Interactive Mortgage have become more and more involved with horse sport each year. From young horses in the Interactive Mortgage Futurity Series just wrapping up its fourth year, to young riders in the Interactive Mortgage U25 Series, including an exciting new final offering $25,000 in prize money at The Las Vegas National, the DeLongs have created numerous opportunities for young athletes to progress. And as a presenting sponsor of Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping at The Las Vegas National, Gregg, Evette and Interactive Mortgage are certainly actively involved in the sport.

Initially as CashCall and now as Interactive Mortgage, half a decade ago, the DeLongs worked with Blenheim EquiSports to develop a program that promoted up-and-coming young horses as they advance through the ranks, now known as the Interactive Mortgage 10 & Under Futurity Series and Final. With $65,000 in prize money offered through the season, including $20,000 allotted for the Final, this program offers a great stepping stone for the horses. This year's Interactive Mortgage Futurity Final winner, Bjorn Ikast riding Supernatural, noted, "I think that it is very important that the up-and-coming horses get the chance to prove they are nearly ready to move up, and for them to win some money, too."

Looking to offer West Coast riders the opportunities already available for East Coast riders, in 2015, Gregg and Evette, with Blenheim EquiSports, introduced the Interactive Mortgage U25 Series and Final. Now in the second year, participation has doubled this season. Seeking to further expand the program, two more U25 classes will be offered at the two-week HITS Sunshine Series in November, along with the two classes remaining on the Blenheim schedule this week and next.

With $67,500 in total prize money during the Blenheim season, the twenty-five riders who qualify will compete for $25,000 in the Interactive Mortgage U25 Series Final at The Las Vegas National, the end of the season championship show at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa.

"By supporting show jumping from the young horses and riders, we hope to offer the horses and riders a chance to gain the experience they need to compete at the FEI World Cup™ Jumping events and potentially go on to represent our country," Gregg DeLong commented.

As for Interactive Mortgage's sponsorship of the $100,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Las Vegas, the company is stepping up for the second year in a row as presenting sponsor for this highlight event in November. DeLong noted that he would like to see some of the horses and riders who are winning classes and finals in the two Interactive Mortgage series go on to participate in future FEI events and championships.

In order to see that vision through, the DeLong family is committed to the future. "Each year we look back to see what worked and what could improve, and each year we make amendments," Gregg DeLong said. "A lot of changes that come up have originated from riders and owners who make suggestions, and we try to incorporate them."

Gregg DeLong mentioned that one potential change for 2017 is a September date for the Futurity Finals offered through Blenheim EquiSports, an adjustment to the current August date, giving horses more opportunity to gain miles as well as to qualify. Another development for 2017 is the expansion of the U25 Developing Riders program, which will begin offering classes during the eight-week HITS Desert Circuit and continue through the Blenheim show season.

As Helen Keller said, and Blenheim EquiSports embraces, "Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much." Interactive Mortgage plays a big role in bringing the opportunities to the sport that do so much for its future.

Interactive Mortgage will continue to sponsor two series with Blenheim EquiSports in 2017: the Interactive Mortgage Futurity Series and Final for up-and-coming grand prix horses under the age of 10, and the Interactive Mortgage U25 Series and Final at the 1.40-1.45m level for riders under age 25.

Launched in 2015, Interactive Mortgage finances new home purchases, and refinances homeowners' current loans to help improve their financial position. The company's goal is to bring an interactive experience to the consumer, with the consumer in control, rather than a salesperson. With Interactive Mortgage, the consumer makes the decisions.
