San Juan Capistrano, CA – The Silver and Bronze FEI CSI3* Tours concluded this afternoon with the $10,000 1.40m Bronze Tour Classic and the $15,000 1.45m Silver Tour Classic. Two developing young FEI riders emerged victorious, Jamie Sailor and Carly Anthony. Sailor was aboard a horse she has brought along since he was two, Felyn Farms’ Flashdance. And Anthony aboard Stephex Stables’ Clochard, a horse she’s shown just three times.

BRONZE TOUR
The CSI3* Bronze Tour Classic welcomed 27 horse and rider combinations from five nations. Eight competitors rode Olaf Petersen’s track without fault to return for the jump-off. First in, American Taylor Siebel riding Mountain Home Stables, LLC’s Evidence, set the pace with a double clear round in 40.72s. Four horses later, Canadian Samara Heinrichs and Peninsula Vertigo (Marilyn Dawson-Dixon, owner) stole that lead, double clean in 38.39s. In came Sailor aboard Flashdance, who stopped the clock in an impressive 37.37s to gallop away with their first ever FEI victory.

Jamie Sailor and Flashdance

“Flashdance is only eight-years-old, but I’ve had him since he was two and have been able to take him through the five, six, and seven-year-old jumpers. It’s been great to be a part of his progression in the sport.” Sailor said. “I knew he needed to put the pedal to the metal, and he came through for me.”

She continued,”This is my first FEI event. I’m 26 and never had a chance to do Young Riders or anything like that. I’m learning a lot and hopefully you’ll see more of me in the FEI world.”

SILVER TOUR
Twenty-two competitors representing four nations competed in the CSI3* Silver Tour Classic. Only four horse and rider combinations were able to master the first round to return for the jump-off. Anthony aboard the nine-year-old Holsteiner gelding Clochard were the only pair to ride double clean for the win.

Carly Anthony and Clochard

As opposed to Flashdance and Sailor, Clochard and Anthony are a new match as this was only their third show together. “He is a lovely horse to ride and he wants to win, which makes my job a lot easier. He’s as fast as a Ferrari and as easy as a Bentley, which definitely sets us up for success.”

Anthony’s win today also earned points in the 2018 Legacy Markel Western Region Show Jumping Tour.

The FEI CSI3* excitement culminates with the $80,000 Gold Tour Grand Prix tomorrow afternoon at 4:00pm.
